Bangladesh is good cricket team though they haven’t done anything extra-ordinary yet in cricket world cups. But in this world cup, they wanted to do something special. But what about their team? Are they good enough, are they well balanced? Lets see.
They have a team where 4 players have an experience to win the world cup in a different stage, the “Under-19 world cup” in 2020. Tamim, Hridoy, Shoriful & Tanzim are those four.
At least 2 players have the experience of playing Under-19 world cup semi-final, and one of them Miraz was actually the captain of that team. Other one is Shanto, new batting sensation of Bangladeshi line-up.
Most experienced 3 of this team are Shakib, Musfiqur and Mahmudullah, the three from the legendary fantastic five from Bangladesh. They are also, among the most experienced of this CWC list.
Taskin, Mustafizur, Liton and Mahadi are regular 4 faces in the team for a very long time and they are well experienced too. Nasum and Hasan are two, who are almost regular but have fewer experience but they have proved themselves already for many times.
So in terms of experience, this is one of the best team Bangladesh have ever had in world cup!
With four proven batters and almost brand new one opening batsman, who have proven himself at HP Unit, Bangladesh can dream good. But relaying on the proven all rounders, they can even dream bigger. One spinner and five performing fast bowler’s all out performance can boost the dream more and make it true. It seems somehow they have managed to built a balanced team.
Balanced team in another sense, when we see their age diversity in this team. Half are on younger side and other half are on older side. Younger adds power, energy and speed where olders can add experience, skill and reliability. Which is perfect!
